The History Trust of SA is recruiting for a Senior Visitor Engagement Officer for the SA Maritime Museum in Port Adelaide. Duties:
The Senior Visitor Engagement Officer is responsible for the delivery of visitor services and the effective and efficient day-to-day operations and functions of the museum.
Key Role Components:
- Deliver the core visitor experience at the museum and assist with the administrative needs of the museum.
- Coordinate the ongoing professional development of the Visitor Engagement Officer teams.
- Prepare, plan and present guided tours and education-focussed program activities for all visitors to the museum and online.
- Act as a point of contact for enquiries and liaison with key stakeholders.
- Assist with the implementation of marketing and promotion initiatives at the museum.
- Contribute to the development of social media, including content creation, and promotion of the museums and public programs.
- Assist with the management of the museum retail outlet and income generating activities.
- Assist with the movement of museum objects and the transportation, installation and dismantling of exhibitions and displays.
- Under direction, assist with museum volunteer management.
Special Conditions:
Some out of hours work may be required. Weekend work will be required. Engagement in this role is subject to a satisfactory Department of Human Services Working with Children Check. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required and a current driver’s licence is desirable but not essential.
Essential Qualifications:
Desirable – Qualifications in related fields, such as History, Education and/or Tourism
