There are two full-time APS 4 ongoing positions being advertised, one for Shipkeeper-Endeavour and the other for Shipkeeper-Steelships.
Purpose of the Position
Under direction of the Fleet Team Leader or designate, ensure the Ship is ready for opening to the public. Ensure safety systems are in place to ensure safe passage and enjoyment and others on board Museum vessels such as Vampire, Onslow, Advance and Endeavour. Co-ordination of visitor groups and management of other visitors, (Film and Media groups). Assist with the interpretation of the navy ships during public opening times.
Ensure safe evacuation of visitors in the event of emergencies on board. The Shipkeeper role is also required to assist fleet in day sail programs for vessels during special events.
Eligibility
Selection for this position will be made on the basis of relative merit which will be assessed against each item of the selection criteria. Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be considered for short listing by the Selection Committee. As part of the selection process the selection committee may invite candidates to undertake psychometric test, you should advise the selection committee if you have any special needs. Psychometric tests may be used as the initial short-listing test or later in the selection process. Some tests are very short while others may take one or more hours.
