World Science Festival Brisbane explores and celebrates the entanglement of science and art through a curated program of thought-provoking conversations, inspiring theatrical and cinematic experiences, major outdoor events and education activities. The Site Manager will manage sites and locations for City of Science, liaising with the precinct and venue managers and stakeholders, to lead the planning and delivery of all infrastructure, production, logistics and site service requirements.

The Site Manager will:

  1. Liaise with precinct managers, venue managers and government bodies to plan and manage City of Science sites and locations, negotiating solutions obtaining all relevant event permits and licenses and navigating site and access restrictions.
  2. Collaborate with producers, site designer, partners and stakeholders to develop site layouts and plans that carefully considers programming requirements, implementation, accessibility, context, environmental sustainability, safety and partners.
  3. Liaise with suppliers to source infrastructure, temporary structures and equipment, develop a detailed schedule and crew roster, arrange engineering certification and oversee the bump-in/out of sites.
  4. Plan and manage site services including security, waste management, traffic management, amenities and power supply and distribution, including the supervision of site and production contractors.
  5. Manage and promote site safety in collaboration with the Logistics Coordinator, analyse and manage risk, contribute to the Event Emergency Management Plan, and ensure contractors and crew are inducted and hold the required permits and licences.
  6. Oversee the development and dissemination of all documentation related to City of Science sites and file in accordance with agreed procedure.
  7. Manage the City of Science site budget and escalate issues promptly.
  8. Convene, participate in and lead stakeholder and production meetings.
  9. Build, maintain and leverage cooperative and productive working relationships with Queensland Museum colleagues and external stakeholders to grow support and recognition of World Science Festival Brisbane as one of Australia’s premier events.
  10. Comply with Queensland Museum Network policies, procedures and appropriate legislation.
