Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events and educational programmes.
A full time fixed term position exists for a highly motivated Senior Content and Interpretation Developer to join the Museum at an exciting time of redevelopment and renewal. The role is varied as is the working environment and will require enthusiasm, warmth and flexibility.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Postgraduate or tertiary qualification in material culture, humanities, science, design, communication, or other relevant course of study.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in developing complex and high cost exhibitions and gallery renewal.
- Have a clear understanding of visitor and market research as a developmental tool.
- Experience of community collaboration, stakeholder liaison and range of partnership projects.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Experience of working in projects with a structured project management methodology while working in a matrix management structure
- Must have a current driver’s licence
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays and/or weekends
- Holds a passion for dynamic museums and for working in a cross functional team environment
