We seek to appoint a highly motivated, productive museum professional with a demonstrated record of curatorial practice, research, community engagement, project management, and communication and leadership skills. The position plays a key role in contributing to the important cultural role that Queensland Museum Network plays in advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.

ABOUT THE JOB
The position leads a team to research, manage and promote the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collections, Pacific collections along with First Nations collections from other areas of the world, within the Cultures & Histories team of the Queensland Museum.

The role is responsible for initiating, coordinating, and developing research projects, innovative exhibitions and public programs for the Cultures & Histories program in accordance with the strategic and operational priorities of the Queensland Museum Network.

The post will include ongoing community engagement with Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community stakeholders and includes working with Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement and Repatriation programs.
