ABOUT THE JOB
The position leads a team to research, manage and promote the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collections, Pacific collections along with First Nations collections from other areas of the world, within the Cultures & Histories team of the Queensland Museum.

The role is responsible for initiating, coordinating, and developing research projects, innovative exhibitions and public programs for the Cultures & Histories program in accordance with the strategic and operational priorities of the Queensland Museum Network.
The post will include ongoing community engagement with Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community stakeholders and includes working with Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement and Repatriation programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Possession of a tertiary (preferably postgraduate) qualification in a field relevant to the position (e.g. Museum Studies, Cultural Studies, Anthropology) or equivalent.
