A unique institution at the heart of Melbourne’s iconic meeting place, Federation Square ACMI is Australia’s national museum of film, TV, videogames, digital culture and art. Welcoming over 1.29m visitors in 2016/17, ACMI is the most visited museum of the moving image in the world and the third most visited museum in Australia.
We have an exciting role within our Exhibitions and Touring Team for a Senior Exhibitions Project Coordinator – Touring. The role is responsible for the planning, project management and delivery of key aspects associated with ACMI’s international touring exhibitions – with a focus on DreamWorks Animation and the upcoming Wonderland exhibition.
This position requires creative thinking and a capacity to problem solve constructively and with ingenuity. The incumbent will at times be required to work within fast paced and challenging environments. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential, including the capacity to work collaboratively but with experience to initiate and implement clear decisions as required. Extensive experience in delivering high quality museum/gallery exhibitions and/or touring exhibitions, or other similar public arts and culture projects is essential.
Regular international travel for extended periods of time is also core to this role. This role is a newly created contract position to help manage the delivery of ACMI’s growing international touring exhibitions program.
The successful candidate must have a current valid passport and be available to travel nationally and internationally as required, potentially as much as 3-4 months spread across a year. This Grade 4 role has a commencing salary of $82,574 plus super.
