About the Role
As Senior Manager Building Services, your role will be to manage the Australian Museum’s assets and physical infrastructure, in line with the department’s policies and procedures. This position leads the Facilities team.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Planning and developing asset management plans across key all museum sites, including tenancy, construction, and maintenance activities
- Delivering effective outcomes for heritage assets, public presence and engagement, specialised collection storage and scientific research activity needs
- Negotiating and managing contracts and service agreements
- Assessing risks, providing advice, analysis, and effective services to meet the diverse needs and priorities of the Museum
- Managing and monitoring the operational and capital expenditure budgets
- Leading and managing staff, including daily operational metrics as well as performance development
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated significant experience in Strategic Asset Management
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Architecture or relevant working experience
- Knowledge of relevant WHS legislation and principles
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Knowledge & Experience
- Current knowledge and working experience to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of and experience with the technical details of building fabric, structure, and engineering services within major public and heritage building environments and an understanding of standards and practices within a museum environment
