Established in 1879, the museum includes the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney Observatory, and the Powerhouse in Castle Hill. The Museum is custodian to over half a million objects of national and international significance and is considered one of the finest and most diverse collections in Australia.
Social Media Manager – Powerhouse
The Social Media Manager is a critical role in communicating the Powerhouse Program during a time of significant growth and renewal. The program encompasses our future flagship Museum, Powerhouse Parramatta, the reimagining of Powerhouse Ultimo, the expansion of the Museums Discovery Centre and the Collection Digitisation Project.
The Social Media Manager is responsible for leading the creation, development, implementation, and evaluation of the social media strategy for the Powerhouse Museum. The role manages the development, publication, monitoring, evaluating and reporting of digital content across a range of channels in alignment with organisational objectives.
You will:
- Oversee the development of the overarching social media strategy for the Museum across its four sites.
- Manage the development, publication, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of digital content across a range of channels.
- Collaborate with digital colleagues to implement a Museum-wide content strategy that encompasses the many communication mediums and formats employed across the organisation.
- Oversee and manage the creation of content, including ideation, planning, copywrite, design, video and photo production while ensuring alignment to the Museum brand to create informative and engaging content.
