The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a high performing professional to join the Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs division as a Social Media Officer. The individual will be required to develop content for the Museum’s social media channels while supporting the strategic direction of the Museum.
The social media team is responsible for writing and commissioning content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. The successful applicant of the position will provide support to the Social Media Coordinator and contribute a positive self-starting disposition to the team.
This position liaises with a variety of business units and requires a strong interest in social media, a flair for writing, creativity and attention to quality control. Experience in media is considered favourably.

- Under the direction of the Social Media Coordinator, implementing the social media strategy and support specific campaign strategies.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of social media campaigns for the whole of Museum, including: temporary exhibitions, permanent galleries, public programs and events.
- Sourcing, developing and publishing content for social media channels, ensuring high levels of creativity and quality control.
- Supporting the development of paid social media campaigns that grow and engage the Museum’s social media audience.
- Liaising with photography and media services to produce photography and video content suitable for social media roll out.
- Contributing to social media scheduling, monitoring and moderating.
- Using social media analytics, monitoring and reporting tools.
- Following social media trends in order to embrace new developments and opportunities.
- Assisting in the evaluation and reporting on social media activities and outcomes.
- Being prepared to work outside standard business hours, to monitor social media as required (including some weekends, special events and exhibition openings).
An interest in the cultural sector and skills related videography and media liaison are considered favourably.
