Job Description

The Space Optimisation Manager role is responsible for optimising space utilisation eg. storage and accommodation solutions across the Museum’s various sites. The Museum’s estate is developing and transforming so the aim of this important position is to achieve the best and most appropriate use of space and to minimise future moves of collection items or office resources, or double handling.

The role holder will collaborate with diverse groups including curators and collection care colleagues, to identify, plan and implement relocation, storage space and accommodation solutions including office accommodation.

The nature of the role involves regular problem solving, navigating competing requirements for space and/or resources. This position will suit an experienced space planner looking to bring their skills to the GLAM sector, or a Museum employee with prior experience creating workplace space options and solutions for collection care  and resources.
