As one of Sydney’s most visited museums, the Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM) is committed to being a world leader in maritime history, sharing the national maritime story across Australia and providing a must-visit museum experience. Starting with the opening of the ANMM’s Warships Pavilion, the museum is undergoing a major onsite transformation.
Located in the lively tourist precinct of Sydney’s Darling Harbour, the Australian National Maritime Museum is one of Sydney’s most visited museums. We’re currently going through a period of transformation and seeking a passionate individual with a ‘spirit of adventure’ to help shape our future.
Reporting to the Manager Sponsorship and Partnerships, the Sponsorship Coordinator will be instrumental in delivering the museum’s vision through its master plan. The purpose of the role is to manage the benefits of sponsorship clients and assist the sponsorship team to build financial support from the corporate and government sectors.
The successful candidate will be required to have:
- Outstanding time management, analytical skills and organisational ability;
- Experience in sales, marketing and events space;
- Experience working in a customer facing environment and the ability to relate with senior management of the museum, corporate and government organisations;
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and engage positively with other departments across the museum.

Selection for this position will be made on the basis of relative merit which will be assessed against each item of the selection criteria. Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be considered for short listing by the Selection Committee. As part of the selection process the selection committee may invite candidates to undertake psychometric test, you should advise the selection committee if you have any special needs. Psychometric tests may be used as the initial short-listing test or later in the selection process. Some tests are very short while others may take one or more hours.
