The STEM Engagement Officer will support the development and implementation of science-related community engagement initiatives delivered by the Queensland Museum Network, including through the Inspiring Australia science engagement strategy in Queensland.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work collaboratively across the Queensland Museum Network to support and strength current STEM engagement programs, and assist in the delivery of these where appropriate.
- Build and maintain effective networks with public and private sector organisations to facilitate a program of year-round and state-wide science initiatives that can be branded as Inspiring Australia projects, including National Science Week.
- Provide ongoing strategic support and advice to the Queensland National Science Week Coordination Committee.
- Provide and promote a website that encourages science communities to share information, events, experiences and stories about lifelong science learning.
- Collaborate with the national network of Inspiring Australia State and Territory managers to facilitate an integrated approach to science communication and engagement across Australia.
- Provide input into the delivery of comprehensive and accurate briefs, reports and correspondence relating to science communication and engagement initiatives, to inform and support the operations of the Inspiring Australia (Queensland) Reference Group.
- Comply with Queensland Museum Network policies, procedures and appropriate legislation. Contribute to the safety culture of the Queensland Museum Network (QMN) by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all QMN WHS policies/procedures and guidelines relevant to the role.
- Undertake all relevant responsibilities identified in the QMN WHS Accountabilities and Responsibilities Matrix.
