This role will plan, develop and implement Museum STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) resources for the Queensland Museum Network which are connected to Museum objects and the Australian National Curriculum.
Reporting to the Head, Lifelong Learning, and working in close collaboration with the Director, STEM Partnership and corporate partner, QGC through the Future Makers partnership, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of STEM education resources that connect to QMN’s objects and knowledge, thereby improving integration between QMN and Queensland schools.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging and impactful physical and electronic learning resources which are connected to the Australian Science curriculum strands and which profile objects from QMN’s State Collection. These resources will support Queensland teachers to inspire and educate their students.
- Work collaboratively with the Future Makers project team and other key stakeholders to meet program objectives.
- Manage QM Learning Officers to ensure the delivery of resources developed by the team appropriately showcase the State Collection and are suitable for the nominated year level and curriculum strand.
- Integrate new and existing resources into comprehensive educational resource packages.
- Engage with state Curriculum authorities to ensure resources are suitably connected to classroom requirements and can be effectively supported and promoted to Queensland teachers.
- Develop and deliver programs which promote and use the learning resources for specific Future Makers events and initiatives, for example the Hadron Collider exhibition and museum teacher professional development programs.
