The Museum, in collaboration with the Swayn Gallery of Australian Design and the Alastair Swayn Foundation, is seeking Expressions of Interest for an eminent individual from the design profession to undertake activities, alongside the National Museum of Australia’s Curatorial Centres, as the Swayn Senior Fellow in Australian Design (the Fellow).
The Fellow will be engaged to provide intellectual, creative and practical leadership to establish the Swayn Centre for Australian Design at the Museum over a 2-year period.
The Museum’s Curatorial Centres have been designed to focus on selected ideas, collections and core areas of research. Through research, testing and exploring ideas related to Australian history and collections, the Museum’s curators use a range of channels (digital, online, publications, presentations, seminars, events as well as exhibitions) to develop content and engage with audiences on research topics that align with the Museum’s strategic priorities.
