Leadership in the arts – what it means, what it does and how to wield it

In a time of unprecedented progress and deepening social divisions, the pressure is on arts institutions around the world to champion values of sustainable, collaborative and innovative strategy all-the-while anticipating for unknown futures.

Communicating the Arts Sydney considers arts leadership from the micro to the macro: what does strong leadership look like between executives and staff, organisations and their communities, the collective creative industries and the general public? 300 GLAM and performing arts professionals will gather in Sydney for the 24th edition of the Communicating the Arts conference (formerly Communicating the Museum) from 12 – 14 November 2019.

During 3 days, participants will be challenged to interrogate the concept of leadership in the cultural industries, from creative management to social responsibility.
