Planning is underway for the Museum’s longer-term future in Parramatta, following the announcement that the Riverbank site will be the site of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Parramatta. This represents a once in a generation opportunity to develop a twenty-first-century museum that responds to growth and the changing shape of Sydney, and to contemporary methods of content delivery, learning and collaboration.
The opportunity
As the Systems Administrator, you will provide technical support to ensure that information technology and system requirements of the Museum are met through the installation, deployment, administration, maintenance, improvement and user support of business equipment, hardware and software.
Day to day, you will:
- Support the provision of information and communication technology infrastructure, which enables the Museum to run efficiently
- Provide technical support to users in relation to applications and a wide variety of hardware.
- Interpret requirements of non-technical users in order to provide support and determine user requirements of new systems as well as communicate information to users in non-technical terms
- Provide essential systems operations and administration including undertaking backups, stock takes, organising loans of computer equipment and assist with systems administration, ensuring the provision of a high standard of internal and external customer service.
- Evaluate the suitability of existing packages in meeting system’s requirements, undertake enhancements and modifications to existing systems.
About you
To be considered for this role it is a requirement that you have tertiary qualifications in Computer Sciences / Information Technology and Management disciplines, or relevant equivalent experience.
You must be experienced in the operations and support of business IT systems, Microsoft system technologies including Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Azure, Windows Server, SQL, SCCM; and have skills and experience in the support and administration of data centre hardware.
Additional experience with Linux administration would be an advantage.
