What will you do? 

This role will assist and support the ANMM to provide a healthy, and safe, place of work for its employees, volunteers, contractors, and other stakeholders, and to provide a site, facilities and services for its visitors and paying customers that are safe with risks identified and eliminated or mitigated and controlled. Ensure that the ANMM complies with the WHS Act and associated regulations and guidelines. This role combine the best of hands-on safety management with a strategic and operational focus and is a fantastic opportunity.

As a WHS manager you will work in collaboration with the business and support the team in the implementation and application of WHS policies, procedures and initiatives with a focus towards nurturing and achieving safety first philosophy. Your impact in the business will be more about the level of innovative communication and motivation skills you bring to the role, which will maintain the Health and Safety engagement of all levels of staff/management. This role is not merely about process compliance – it is about being an exemplar, a communicator and an agent for ongoing safety momentum.

Eligibility

This position is open to all eligible members of the community. To be an eligible member of the community you must be an Australian citizen. Applications may be accepted from Australian permanent residents who are in the process of acquiring Australian citizenship.

Notes

Selection for this position will be made on the basis of relative merit which will be assessed against each item of the selection criteria. Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be considered for short listing by the Selection Committee. As part of the selection process the selection committee may invite candidates to undertake psychometric test, you should advise the selection committee if you have any special needs. Psychometric tests may be used as the initial short-listing test or later in the selection process. Some tests are very short while others may take one or more hours.
