Te Papa continues digitisation of Pacific tapa

The imaging and collections team from Wellington’s Te Papa museum are spending the next few weeks photographing numerous large tapa cloths for an upcoming publication.

The digitising process of tapa which have come from all over the Pacific is a delicate and time-consuming project, but the benefits include accessibility and preservation.

Te Papa museum’s collection imaging managers, Michael O’Neill and Grace Hutton spoke with Pacific Waves host Susana Suisuiki.
