Conditions

There are currently two (2) positions available for immediate filling, position one is fixed-term part-time for a period 36 months at 0.5 FTE working 37.5 hours per fortnight with the possibility of extension and or permanency and the second position is fixed-term full time for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension.

There will also be a Pool running for a period of 24 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time, fixed-term or permanent appointments.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Job Description

The Technical Officer position undertakes laboratory work to generate molecular sequence data for a range of taxa. This role also assists with the development of molecular datasets suitable for analysis and to upload them into GenBank.
