The Australian Museum (AM) operates within the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and was founded in 1827 as the first museum in Australia. About the role
In line with the Australian Museum’s Strategic Plan and Science Strategy, the aim of the role is to increase the impact of science in the Marine Invertebrates Group in support of researchers and/or the collection manager in implementing an innovative collection-based research and improvement to the collection research infrastructure. The technical officer will be responsible for undertaking technical activities in support of research scientists and the collection manager in consultation with the Group Manager and the Branch Manager, Life and Geosciences.
Essential Requirements
As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate
- BSc or BSc (Hons) preferred, TAFE qualifications, or equivalent Marine Invertebrates collection management or research experience.
- Demonstrated capacity to support the team in the maintenance of the collection (including data-basing and curation) and/or assisting in marine invertebrate research.
- Adequate knowledge and experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description
