Three of Sydney’s premier cultural institutions – the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), Carriageworks, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) – have joined forces to establish a major new exhibition partnership.
Titled “The National: New Australian Art,” the large-scale exhibition will survey the latest ideas and forms in contemporary Australian art, drawing artists from across NSW and Australia as well as Australian artists living overseas.
The exhibition will be presented over a six-year period as a single curated program across the three institutions, with three editions presented in 2017, 2019, and 2021, connecting the key cultural precincts of The Domain, Redfern and Circular Quay
