Duties

The Museum has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic professional to join the agency in the role of Tourism and Commercial Coordinator. This position sits within the Commercial Operations and Tourism Business Unit.

This position is responsible for the coordination, implementation and evaluation of marketing strategies that promote the Museum as a cultural tourism destination nationally and internationally. As a member of a small team, the incumbent will undertake direct sales activities to support the Museum, its programs and exhibitions, including tourism wholesale products, tickets and venue bookings to deliver a high quality visitor experience and reach revenue targets.

The position will involve developing relationships with key stakeholders, and collaborating effectively internally and externally. The role will include managing relevant databases, liaison with travel agents, trade show attendance, coordinating the delivery of tourism media and partnership plans. It is expected that the successful candidate will liaise extensively with relevant ACT government agencies, industry interest groups and other cultural institutions. Some travel may also be required.

The position will undertake coordination, delivery and review of commercial projects within the Business Unit and the broader Museum.
