Duties
The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the International and Domestic team as an APS 5 Travelling Exhibitions Officer to program and deliver domestic travelling exhibitions for the National Museum of Australia.

This includes planning tours, liaising with host venues, coordinating contracts and agreements, maintaining records and statistics and assisting with the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions. The program also entails coordinating the Museum’s graphic panel display program in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The position also coordinates the confirmation of venues for travelling exhibitions through email and phone communication, develops touring manuals, provides logistical support, and works closely with Museum colleagues to confirm transport schedules and installation/deinstallation schedules. The role involves some hands on work to install and deinstall exhibitions at host venues, including the use of various tools and equipment and will require the successful candidate to be physically fit to undertake the range of manual handling activities.

The Travelling Exhibitions Officer will work closely with other members of the International and Domestic Engagement team to plan domestic tours. This will include undertaking research and providing advice on the current travelling exhibitions market.
