UNESCO MONDIACULT 2025 outcome doc

The world’s culture ministers reaffirm culture as a human right in the final declaration of Mondiacult 2025, Ministry of Culture, 1 October 2025 

  • Among the agreements reached is the promotion of culture as a Development Goal in the post-2030 global agenda.
  • The Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, and the Assistant Director-General for Culture at UNESCO, Ernesto Ottone, presented the conclusions of Mondiacult 2025, included in the Final Declaration.
  • The closing ministerial plenary session was attended by the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, and the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay.
  • Ernest Urtasun: “The conclusions of Mondiacult 2025 will resonate at upcoming major international events such as COP30 in Belém. We will bring the voice of culture wherever the future of humanity is decided, because there will be no just ecological transition, no lasting peace, no solid democracy without a cultural dimension to support them.”
