The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences sits at the intersection of art, design, science and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues.

The MAAS Variable Media Digitisation Project (VMDP) is a 5-year program funded by Metal Manufactures Pty/ Ltd (MML) to assess, prioritise, catalogue, digitise and preserve the most significant and vulnerable variable media created and accumulated by the Powerhouse Museum during its normal course of business. This includes research material, archives, exhibition assets and selected collection objects.

The Variable Media Digital Project Archivist will manage and undertake the project under the supervision of the senior Archivist and work with materials currently stored at Powerhouse Ultimo, Sydney Observatory and the Museums Discovery Centre, Castle Hill.
