Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking an event professional to work with clients to successfully plan and implement events, and provide day-to-day supervision to the venue coordinator team.

The position is accountable for the effective delivery of events from a venue perspective, ensuring client satisfaction, compliance with relevant industry, venue and legal regulations and delivering event venue services within budget expectations.

The role is primarily a hands on physical role, facilitating safe and effective event activity.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

This position is accountable for the effective delivery of events from a venue perspective, ensuring client satisfaction, compliance with relevant industry, venue and legal regulations and delivering event venue services within budget expectations.

As a successful applicant you will be required to:

  1. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of exhibitions and events, including a good working knowledge of current building codes, fire safety, risk management, and regulatory requirements, including Occupational Health and Safety, Food Handling & Preparation and Liquor Licensing;
  2. Experience in interpreting and implementing event related plans for large scale events;
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team without direct supervision.
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide high-levels of customer service and meet customer expectations;
  5. Demonstrated initiative and commitment to systems improvement and processes.
  6. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work in an effective and timely manner and to work within a diverse organisation and across multiple business units.
  7. Proficient computer skills and experience including Microsoft Office product suite and Priava, or similar, events software packages.
  8. The successful incumbent is required to obtain, and meet the cost of, a National Police Records check and be assessed as suitable.
  9. Relevant licences or a willingness to undergo training, in areas such as elevated work platforms, forklifts, test and tag, etc.
  10. The successful applicant must be available to work on a 24 hour roster, with both weekdays and weekend availability.
