Museums Victoria is seeking enthusiastic and diverse people to join its Visitor Engagement team. Visitor Engagement Officers work daily with our visitors, enhancing the experience and offering exceptional customer service across three museums, Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum and Scienceworks.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to deliver high quality customer service by receiving and welcoming all visitors to our museum venues and making their visit an informative and valuable experience.
The position is accountable for ensuring visitor satisfaction through:
- The delivery of pro-active and personal service,
- Resolving issues and complaints,
- Ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the public spaces at the Museum venues and
- Ensuring the safety and security of visitors and the exhibitions.
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality customer service
- Clear and effective communication skills, particularly in a face-to-face context,
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving and positive conflict resolution
- Experience and ability to competently use computerised systems (e.g. ticketing, email, MS Office applications)
- Demonstrated skills in the accurate handling of admissions and other charges.
- Ability to work as an effective team member within a diverse organisation.
- The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).

OTHER INFORMATION
The successful applicant will be required to be available for rostering across the 7 days of museum operations including weekends and public holidays.
Casual roles based at Melbourne Museum:
Salary on offer is at VPS 2.1 (Base of Grade): $35.46 per hour (inclusive of Casual loading) + 10.5% Superannuation.
Irregular Part-time roles (Multiple time fractions available) based at Immigration Museum & Scienceworks:
Salary on offer is at VPS 2.1 (Base of Grade): $28.37 per hour + 10.5% Superannuation.
