The Museum has exciting opportunities for professionals who love working with the public, to join the Visitor Experience team as a Visitor Experience Host.
The position of Visitor Experience Host significantly contributes to visitor’s engagement with the Museum, its themes, programs and events. They play a vital role connecting the Museum to visitors (and vice versa) as well as encouraging conversions to paid activities and extension programs. Promoting future visitation while engendering loyalty to the institution is core to the role.
The general responsibilities of the position include: enhancing visitor’s experience through delivery of information about our collections and programs, face-to-face interpretation, development and delivery of guided tours and talks, operation of displays and multimedia experiences, monitoring and promoting the safety and security of visitors and the collection, administration tasks including point of sale operation, processing bookings through a database and the promotion and sale of Museum products.
Notes
This is a rostered position over a 28-day period. It includes regular weekends, public holidays and occasional early mornings and evenings. This position also frequently requires large amounts of walking and standing on hard and soft surfaces. Successful candidates will be required to satisfactorily meet the inherent requirements of the position and satisfactorily pass a medical examination.
