The opportunity
This newly created role is your opportunity to shape the visitor experience across all three MAAS sites; the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney Observatory, and Museums Discovery Centre.
Reporting to the Head of Visitor Services & Venues, you will play an integral and leading role in delivering a new standard of visitor experience at MAAS. Day to day, you will:
- Nurture a commitment to service excellence within your team, developing staff capability, skills and culture in order to deliver a range of visitor services of a superior standard
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and deliver high-quality and consistent visitor experience across all MAAS sites
- Lead and implement continuous operational improvement strategies including aligning policy and process, to ensure high-quality service standards and a visitor-centric focus are consistently embedded across all MAAS sites
- Be responsible for day-to-day operational and administrative requirements across all MAAS sites which includes effective resource planning and management
About you
To succeed in this role, ideally you are an experienced, engaging people leader with previous success implementing operational and cultural change to achieve exceptional customer experiences. We are looking for a person who has:
- A proven ability to successfully lead and develop people, culture and operations
- Experience in customer experience design, customer journey mapping and/or human centred design thinking
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Significant experience in solving operational challenges quickly, cost-effectively, innovatively and from an end to end visitor-centric perspective.
- Well-developed technical capability relevant to the utilisation of visitor facing systems such as, POS, CRM and events as well as rostering software.
