Visitor Research Forum and a Visitor Studies Masterclass, Museums|Digital|Research|Learning, 5 February 2025
It’s on again for 2025 – our popular and FREE Visitor Research Forum (VRF).
Te Papa Tongarewa, in partnership with the University of Canberra and The University of Queensland is hosting this year’s forum on Friday March 7, 2025 in Wellington, New Zealand.
The forum brings together industry and academic thought leaders working and researching in the area of Visitor Research across Australasia and the World. This year’s theme, Sites and Screens: Perspectives on Physical and Digital Audiences invites a rich exchange on the latest developments, trends, and challenges shaping our field.
Book your tickets here.
We are also seeking presentations from practitioners, academics, consultants, and any anyone else with something interesting to talk about relating to the theme– digital and physical audiences across the range of GLAM, heritage sites, visitor attractions and tourism. If you are interested in giving a presentation on completed or current case studies and research, please send your 100-150 word abstract by 7 February 2025 to [email protected].
AND ANNOUNCING THE VISITOR STUDIES MASTERCLASS
In conjunction with the VRF I will be presenting a one-day Visitor Studies Masterclass on Thursday, 6 March in the Wellington CBD.
This hands-on masterclass will cover all aspects of visitor studies / audience research from exhibition evaluation to program evaluation and market research, as well as evaluating digital products and the use of AI in research and evaluation.
The class will provide tips and techniques, coupled with a series of practical exercises in a local museum exhibition space. A set of online resources, guidelines and readings will also be provided as part of the Masterclass.
This is suitable for all levels of practitioners – those starting out, those that want to be re-invigorated and those that want to understand how visitor studies can help in their work.
This will be a paid class and includes all workshop materials, morning tea and lunch.
It will also be ideal for VRF participants who’d like to extend their visit to Wellington.
