Duties
The position of Visitor Services Host contributes significantly to the visitor experience. They also play a vital role connecting the Museum to the visitor and vice-a-versa as well as encouraging revenue raising and future visitation.
The general responsibilities of the position are:
Enhancement of the visitor experience through information delivery and face-to-face interpretation
• Develop and deliver guided tours and talks
• Provide excellent customer service
• Assist with visitor enquiries including front line complaint resolution
• Deliver Museum developed communication messages
Operation of displays and facilities
• Information and cloakroom desk
• Multi-media and interactives
Monitoring and promoting the safety and security of visitors and the collection
• Front line security presence in gallery areas
• Working with Vulnerable People
• Hazard identification/ prevention and WHS reporting
• Implement emergency and evacuation procedures
Administration tasks
• Point of Sale operation
• Process bookings through database and online facilities
• Reception, transferring calls and forwarding messages
• Word processing
Promotion and Sale of Museum products
• Friends memberships
• Donations
• Daily tours and visitor experience packages
• Temporary exhibitions
• Venue hire and Café
