The Powerhouse Precinct at Parramatta is one of the largest cultural infrastructure projects currently being undertaken in Australia. The project will transform and renew one of Australia’s oldest and most important cultural institutions and carry forward its legacy to reflect the changing needs of the contemporary communities of NSW
Do work that matters…
The Visitor Services Officer role is primarily responsible for providing a warm welcome through the provision of an exceptional standard of customer service to all physical, telephone and on-line visitors, as well as MAAS members. Visitor Services Officers provide support for the delivery of events occurring during the day, evenings and at weekends across all MAAS spaces.
VSOs also work closely with the MAAS Volunteer Program and help with event and program delivery. Reporting to Visitor Services Managers, Visitor Services Officers also take a key role in site safety and emergency management.
What will it take?
We are looking for someone to join the team with the following attributes:
- Capacity to deliver a consistent high standard of visitor servicing in a dynamic, public facing, at times pressured environment of high visitor volumes whilst simultaneously ensuring the safety of the public and museum exhibits.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team that is distributed across multiple sites
- Ability to effectively operate, ticketing, point-of-sale and membership systems and undertake cash handling duties with accuracy.
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate
