You will supervise the activities of the daily rostered team of permanent and casual Visitor Services Officers, Hospitality Staff and volunteers to provide excellent visitor service that ensures Museum visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively manage work plan to encompass team leader duties and support to the visitor services manager
- Support the development and implementation of staff planning and performance, programs and procedures for the provision of continuous improvement in front of house operations including the coffee shop and retail shop.
- Lead the operations of the Front of House team with administration of the visitor services office, including filing, team communications, timesheets, coordination of daily tasks, stock counts, group bookings information, daily trading and the rectification or reporting of faults and issues.
- Assist the Visitor Services Manager to contribute to develop, improve and implement front of house policies and procedures and maintain appropriate and accurate records regarding front of house matters as appropriate.
- Liaise with visitors, assist with public enquires and resolve visitor complaints and problems in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Be responsible for efficient management of cash handling at all Front of House facilities including provision of change and balancing of daily reconciliation.
- Prepare written advice and training materials for staff regarding upcoming, public programs, functions and events and other procedural matters.
- Work constructively to support the efficient delivery of Functions, events, activities and programs.
- Act as the Duty Supervisor and First Aid Officer (as required) including afterhours, weekends and Public Holidays.
- Be part of the museums response team in emergency situations including evacuation and crowd control and oversee the security of public areas during opening hours.
- Undertake all relevant responsibilities identified in the QMN WHS Accountabilities and Responsibilities Matrix, including coordination of monthly meetings and production of associated reports.
