Sovereign Hill is a dynamic group of museums presenting the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region and its impact on Australia’s history.

The Coachbuilding/Wheelwrighting team builds and maintains all of Sovereign Hill’s horse-drawn vehicles, and restores and manufactures period pieces for the museum and external customers. It ensures that all coaches used for transporting visitors throughout Sovereign Hill are fit for purpose.

In this costumed role you will be required to learn and present in an engaging manner, the processes involved in constructing a wooden wheel in the 1850s. This includes a sound knowledge of the processes being described.

To be successful in this position you must have:

Presenting, public speaking and/or interpreting experience would be highly regarded.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and appointment is subject to satisfactory Police Record and Working with Children and Pre-employment medical checks.
