Museum Victoria is seeking a Workforce Planning Officer to administer and co-ordinate workforce planning processes and procedures, and provide the information and advice required to make sound and strategic workforce decisions based on accurate metrics and planning processes.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary accountability of this position is, under supervision, to provide information, reports and advice that allow an informed and structured approach to the planning and management of the workforce, and the application of workforce planning procedures, including classification, across Museums Victoria.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Knowledge and skills in designing and modifying SQL-based queries and reports (e.g. MS Access, Aurion Query Tool, Crystal Reports)
- Ability to manipulate extracted data via advanced spread-sheeting techniques (e.g. Excel VBA and functions), provide analysis and demonstrate problem solving and planning skills that enables information to be presented in a meaningful way.
- Knowledge of Workforce Planning theory and practice
- Sound understanding of, and experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and/ or similar relational databases and development of statistically based reports.
- Experience in the development of job design, role statements and application of job classification methodologies ( desirable)
- A willingness and ability to learn and apply new skills.
- Ability to meet agreed time frames, on short and long-term projects.
- Highly developed communication skills including the ability to advise and liaise with all levels of staff, to collaborate and to prepare accurate and clear documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, assess and respond to customer needs in a positive, friendly and efficient manner and to manage customer expectations.
- Knowledge of HR policies and procedures and relevant legislation and regulations, including discrimination, harassment and bullying.
- The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
OTHER INFORMATION
This position is full-time, fixed term for 6 months. The salary on offer is $71,807 (base of grade) + 9.5% superannuation.
