Exhibition Technician
MOTAT is seeking a versatile technician to help build, install, and maintain our visitor-facing exhibitions.
No two days are the same as an Exhibition Technician. You’ll use your range of hands-on skills, working with different tools and materials to help build, fabricate, prototype, install and deinstall exhibitions and other experiences at MOTAT. Part of a dedicated team of technicians you’ll also help maintain and repair MOTAT’s exhibitions to keep them looking just right for visitors. A team player, you’ll need to communicate well as well as being able to work independently, reliably and to meet deadlines. There will be periods when the job will be labour-intensive and involve heavy lifting.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Experience in a range of building and construction materials, tools and techniques
- The ability to diagnose basic mechanical and technical problems and develop solutions
- A full driver’s licence
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and interpret instructions accurately
- Experience of handling museum or other precious objects
- Awareness of working within a visitor-facing organisation.
