We are seeking an enthusiastic team member to help us achieve our mission to inspire generations of Queenslanders to discover, celebrate and value our distinctive natural and cultural environment. The position coordinates a wide range of facilities, small to medium size projects and building maintenance activities as well as the role of Workplace Health and Safety advisor to ensure the day‐to‐day smooth operation of Queensland Museum.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the delivery of a diverse range of facilities management activities for the Queensland Museum and ensure these align with the Queensland Museum’s brand, vision, operational and strategic plans and organisational objectives, building management guidelines and regulatory requirements, agreed asset maintenance schedules, cleaning program, workplace health and safety legislation and energy management guidelines.
  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery of designated minor works, projects, maintenance and facilities services in accordance with defined scope, budget, delivery timetable and quality standards.
  • Effectively perform the functions of Workplace Health and Safety Advisor for Queensland Museum building at South Bank.
  • Hold a current accreditation as a Fire Safety Advisor and perform all the functions of the Fire Safety Advisor,  induct staff, schedule and provide regular training in relation to building security and emergency procedures as well as conduct annual evacuation exercises.
  • Liaise with Arts Queensland Property and Facilities branch on provision of building maintenance and services including the energy management system, pest control, waste, sanitary services and cleaning.
  • Manage, mentor, coach and train direct reports.
  • Take all safety measures when performing duties to ensure the safety of yourself and others, and comply with QM’s Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and Government legislation.
