Immunity legislation enters Parliament

Legislation has been introduced to Federal Parliament to provide immunity from seizure for cultural objects loaned by overseas museums for exhibition in Australia.  The current lack of legislation and/or legal assurances has made it increasingly difficult in recent years to organise the loan of items from international museums.  CAMD’s Chair, Dr Patrick Greene,welcomes the proposal in the following media release:
