Te Papa is embarking on an exciting period of renewal which includes rethinking our education offering.

We are seeking applications from teachers who have experience in modern learning practices; innovative approaches; and facilitating learning programmes outside the classroom.

As a Museum Education Specialist, you will use Te Papa’s collections, exhibitions and cultural and scientific resources to enable teachers to facilitate an innovative learning experience with their students and wider communities. You will be part of a team that leads the development, delivery, promotion and review of learning programmes  at the Museum. Support for Te Papa’s digital, exhibition and public programmes is important as well as supporting other Museum Education Specialists in development and delivery of their programmes.

These roles are permanent but we will consider secondment for the right person.

The part-time, fixed term role is 20 hours per week until 1 April 2016 and will require someone with teacher with experience in at least two of the above discipline areas.

Comfort working with Te Reo and tikanga Maori is a significant advantage for all roles.
