Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Sciences Collections Online Project Co-ordinator to manage the MV Sciences Collections Online and digital projects. The successful applicant will generate complex science collection data, imagery and multimedia content on Victorian fauna and geology for presentation in the Sciences Collections Online projects, Digital Life, MV Stories and associated outputs (such as publications and mobile phone apps).
The primary responsibility of Sciences Collections Online Project Co-ordinator is accountable for planning, generating and collating high quality text, image and multimedia content, with an emphasis on biological and geological information on Victoria’s natural science in order to deliver outstanding digital products representing Museum Victoria’s rich state collections and high profile research.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of Sciences Collections Online Project Co-ordinator is accountable for planning, generating and collating high quality text, image and multimedia content, with an emphasis on biological and geological information on Victoria’s natural science in order to deliver outstanding digital products representing Museum Victoria’s rich state collections and high profile research.
Notable skills and experiences:
- Extensive research experience in and knowledge of biology and/or geosciences.
- Extensive experience in the development of online information products.
- Extensive experience in the use of computers, database software for managing museum collections (such as EMu) and other software applications including image manipulation software.
- Extensive knowledge and experience working within natural science collections and associated data.
- Experience in writing or editing scientific articles for a general audience.
- Developed communication skills, ability to lead teams and work effectively as a team member.
- Experience in developing collaborative networks.
