About the Business South Australian Museum

A statutory authority of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, the South Australian Museum has been committed to making Australia’s natural and cultural heritage accessible, engaging and fun for over 165 years. It is a place where families can learn and grow together. Today the Museum is one of the most visited museums in Australia and holds collections of national and international significance.  The purpose of the Museum is to inspire in all people a wonder and curiosity about life on Earth.

As part of a small, committed team the Visitor Services Coordinator is responsible for supervising the Museum’s front-of-house operations including customer service, ticketing, bookings, rostering, and the visitor services volunteer program. Delivering a range of visitor experience activities including tours and public programs, this public-facing role enhances the Museum’s visitor experience by ensuring visitors are appropriately welcomed to the Museum and have suitable opportunities to engage with Museum programs and activities.
