Rare Trades Symposium, Visit Ballarat, May 2022

This two day industry event will elaborate and enhance the story of our rare trades and craft by gathering artisans together to network, learn, share stories and deepen their connection to each other in Ballarat, the UNESCO City of Craft.

In 2022, the symposium will be held on 25 & 26 May during Ballarat’s Heritage Festival; giving you the opportunity to stay for the weekend and explore all that Ballarat offers: Craft Lab, galleries, museums and the Heritage Festival celebrations .

The program:

Pre-Symposium: Evening of food, wine and conversation. Wednesday 25 May from 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Mitchell Harris, Doveton Street, Ballarat. (Separately ticketed).

Symposium: Thursday 26 May from 9:00am registration. Detailed program to follow.
Sovereign Hill, Bradshaw Street, Golden Point (included in Symposium registration).

Closing Event: Rare Trades PechaKucha at CraftLab on Thursday 26 May at 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
The Mining Exchange, Lydiard Street Ballarat (Included in Symposium registration).
